A very large number of manuscripts of it exist, more than of any other work by Ficino. It was printed for the first time in 1471 and went through sixteen editions to the end of the sixteenth century, not counting those in which it appears with the other works. An Italian translation of it by Tommaso Benci was printed at Florence in 1548.
