Symphorien Champier of Lyons was a leading apostle of Neo- platonism in France, and an admirer of Ficino. In his De Quadru- plici Vita (Lyons, 1507) he is imitating Ficino's Libri de Vita, but without the talismans of the De vita coelitus comparanda against which he utters a warning.
