  1. 26 January 1954 Kill rewards and scoreboards 2 cit. In January 1954 the House of Lords discussed a court of inquiry into British conduct in Kenya. The allegations included money rewards for killing Mau Mau suspects, scoreboards of kills, cut-off beards taken as trophies and other inhuman practices. The official response admitted some reward instances while denying a general improper system.
