Clement Argwings-Kodhek

1923 – 1969 Kenyan Barrister, politician

One of the first African advocates in East Africa, Argwings-Kodhek defended Mau Mau suspects when few lawyers would. He became a KANU member of parliament and government minister, and died in a Nairobi car crash in 1969.
