Dion Fortune, born Violet Firth, trained in a successor branch of the Golden Dawn before founding her own group, the Fraternity of the Inner Light. She wrote both practical manuals such as The Mystical Qabalah and occult novels that conveyed her teaching in story form. Her work helped shape modern British magic and the later revival of Kabbalistic and Pagan practice.
