Israel Regardie worked as Aleister Crowley's secretary in the 1920s before joining the Stella Matutina, a successor of the Golden Dawn. Believing the order's system should not be lost, he published its full body of rituals and teachings in his multi-volume work The Golden Dawn, breaking his oath of secrecy. He also linked magical practice to modern psychology and helped keep the tradition alive for later generations.
