Gautam Shantilal Adani built a global conglomerate in ports, power and airports from a trading business in Gujarat. In 2023 the short-seller Hindenburg Research accused his group of stock manipulation, and in 2024 US prosecutors indicted him over an alleged bribery scheme. He denies both, and the claims remain unproven in court.
