Owen D. Young was an American industrialist who led General Electric and RCA before turning to international finance. He served on the Dawes committee and then chaired the 1929 committee that produced the Young Plan for German reparations. The plan created the Bank for International Settlements to handle the payments. His work made him a central figure in interwar reparations diplomacy.
