Theodor Adorno was a central figure of the Frankfurt School. With Max Horkheimer he wrote Dialectic of Enlightenment, arguing that reason had become a tool of domination and that a culture industry produced passive consumers. He fled Nazi Germany for the United States and later returned to Frankfurt. His work is real and influential critical theory, and is among the scholarship the cultural Marxism conspiracy theory misrepresents.
