Jean-Claude Duvalier, called Baby Doc, took over Haiti's presidency for life in 1971 at the age of nineteen after his father's death. His rule continued the repression of the Duvalier system while he and his circle embezzled large sums. A popular uprising drove him into exile in France in 1986; he returned to Haiti in 2011 and died there in 2014.
