William Wynn Westcott was a London coroner, Freemason, and member of the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia who co-founded the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in 1888. He supplied the cipher manuscripts and the claimed German charter on which the order was based. He recruited Mathers and Woodman as fellow chiefs and helped write the order's early rituals.
