John Adams

1735 – 1826 American 2nd President of the United States

Adams was a leading advocate of independence and a diplomat during the Revolution. As president he signed the Alien and Sedition Acts and kept the country out of full war with France through the Quasi-War settlement. He died on July 4, 1826, the same day as Jefferson.
